USDA Food Manufacturing — Processing & Wash-down Zones

Project narrative

USDA processing demanded a floor system rated for thermal shock from steam-and-cold-water wash cycles, chemical resistance to peracetic acid and quat sanitizers, and an integral cove base eliminating the wall-to-floor seam.

We installed a 1/4" trowel-applied urethane mortar with broadcast aluminum-oxide for slip resistance, then turned the same material up the wall as a 6" coved base in a single monolithic pour. No silicone joints, no harborage points for bacterial growth.

Plant production was held to a 21-day shutdown window. We sequenced four crews across the processing floor and finished four days early — the plant restarted ahead of schedule for the first time in three capital projects.
