Civic Museum Expansion — Grand Staircase & Lobby Plinths
44 precast terrazzo treads and risers plus 16 wall-base panels for a new civic museum's grand staircase. Cast and ground in our Garland shop, installed in a 9-day site window.

Project narrative
Field-cast terrazzo treads weren't an option — the GC needed the staircase mechanically anchored and finish-ready before the building was dried-in. We cast all 44 treads, all 44 risers, and 16 wall-base panels in our shop, ground and polished to 1500 grit, and crated for delivery.
Each tread carries an integrated polished-brass nosing cast into the front edge, eliminating a separate stair-nosing trade and giving the architect a single, continuous brass line up the entire run.
Site installation took 9 days from the first tread to final grouting. Every panel arrived within a 1/32" thickness tolerance, allowing the steel sub to set the substructure to a tight tolerance without on-site shimming.
